Have you've installed the kiosk app but the kiosk app screen isn't showing anymore? Most likely this is due to your tablet resetting itself after a software update or when restarting which caused the kiosk screen to hide. Please follow these suggestions to bring up the kiosk app screen again.
- Use the Home option on the Settings screen
- Find the Home option on the Settings screen
- Find the Home option on the Default Apps option
- Clearing launcher app default settings
1. Use the Home option on the Settings screen
- On the home screen, tap on the apps drawer:
- Find the Settings app (You can also look for it on the search bar at the top of the screen):
- On the Settings screen, look for the Home option:
- On the next screen, press "SMS Kiosk" - it will show a circle next to it when you press it:
- Press the Home button at the bottom of the screen:
- You should now see the kiosk app screen once again.
2. Find the Home option on the Settings screen
If you can't find the Home option, please try these steps.
- On the home screen, tap on the apps drawer:
- Find the Settings app (You can also look for it on the search bar at the top of the screen):
- Look for the search option or magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen:
- Type "Home" or "Launcher":
- The search results will appear below the search bar. Look for an option that says "Home" or "Launcher" and press it:
- On the next screen, press on "SMS Kiosk" - it will show a circle next to it when you press it:
- Press the Home button at the bottom of the screen:
- You should now see the kiosk app screen once again.
3. Find the Home option on the Default Apps option:
If you can't find the Home option using the previous suggestions, please try these steps.
- On the home screen, tap on the apps drawer:
- Find the Settings app (You can also look for it on the search bar at the top of the screen):
- Press on the Apps or Applications option:
- Depending on your tablet brand and operating system, press on the gear or the three dots on the top right of the screen:
- Pressing the gear or the three dots on the top right should bring up a menu that has an option called Default Apps. Press on the Default Apps option when you find it:
- On the Default Apps screen, look for the Home option or Home Screen option. Press on the Home or Home Screen option when you find it.
- On the next screen, press on "SMS Kiosk" - it will show a circle next to it when you press it:
- Press the Home button at the bottom of the screen:
- You should now see the kiosk app screen once again.
4. Clearing launcher app default settings
If you've followed our previous suggestions and still can't bring up the kiosk app, please try clearing your launcher app default settings following these steps.
- On the home screen, tap on the apps drawer:
- Find the Settings app (You can also look for it on the search bar at the top of the screen):
- Look for the search option or magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen:
- Type "Home" or "Launcher":
- The search results will appear below the search bar. Look for an option that says "Home" or "Launcher" and press it:
- There should only be two options, "SMS Kiosk" and your tablet's launcher (this may have a different name depending on your tablet) - in this example, the tablet's launcher is called "ZenUI Launcher." Remember the name of your launcher:
- Press the Home button at the bottom of the screen:
- On the home screen, tap on the apps drawer:
- Find the Settings app (You can also look for it on the search bar at the top of the screen):
- Press on the Apps or Applications option:
- On the next screen, you will see a list of applications on your tablet in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you see the name of your tablet's launcher (from step 6). Press on the name of your launcher:
- Press on Open by Default:
- Press on Clear defaults:
- It should then show "No defaults set" or similar wording:
- You can then try to use any of the previous steps to find the Home option. You will then should be able to have the kiosk app screen appear again.
